Marketing IT services

Marketing would be the process of generating prospects and leads for your idea. Marketing is different from sales in that sales focus is on closing deals while Marketing’s focus is on generating opportunity. In much of the B2B world, marketing plays a less dominant role than Sales activity.

  • Basic objectives
    • Locating where the ducks are (has a lot to do with strategy also)
    • Making the ducks come to you
  • Common techniques
    • SEM (Search Engine Marketing)
    • SEO (Search Engine optimization)
    • Pay Per Clicks
    • Blogs
    • Forums
    • Job fairs etc.
    • So called “Opt-In” schemes
    • Analysis of site traffic patterns (Google analytics) – though not directly a tool for generating leads, its an essential part of the management of marketing efforts
    • Embedded messages in articles. I don’t mean advertisement in CIO but I mean an architect on Microsoft’s payroll talking about a seemingly generic problem that is best solved with a Microsoft product.
