Problems
The customer did not have information protection in place. The documents and corporate information file were not classified (in terms of information’s need for protection). The organization also lacked end-to-end protection and control for sensitive data. Lastly, the customer did not have a formal way to respond to malicious data usage activities.
Solutions
Allied Consultants implemented Azure Information Protection (AIP), a cloud-based solution to protect sensitive information. Our team designed the customer’s information classification labeling and helped implement policy and setup tools to achieve enterprise information protection .Using AIP, our consultants classified and encrypted documents and emails on Windows, Mac, and Mobile devices. The team deployed the following components:
- Azure Information Protection (AIP) and Windows Information Protection (WIP).
- Auto classification and Labeling / Encryption of data.
- Configured MDM, MAM.
Solutions
- Configured WIP Policy to protect Enterprise date on end devices.
- Configured enlightened applications.
- Configured and designed Data Leak Protection policy for the data at rest
We also configured auto labeling on conditions (such as sensitive info like Credit Card no., US Social Security Number, and other PII information) which was automatically applied on document / data. The major implementation was to encrypt the data (both in rest and in motion) so it was not accessible by any external source.
